Baseball Card

This large baseball card was David Wasserman's first attempt to depict the human form using soda cans and other metals. A leading New York art gallery offered the artist a show if he would do a dozen or more "tin can baseball cards." He refused because his purpose was to explore all the possibilities of creating pictures from recycled metal, rather than churning out endless variations on a single theme.
